1. Jakar Dzong:

Located in the Bumthang district of Bhutan, Jakar Dzong is also known as Jakar Yugyal Dzong. Surrounded by spectacular views, Jakar Dzong does not have a watchtower located on the center but on the side of the east.

The water system is also available for the whole year. It is another distinctive feature of the Dzong that is mind-blowing.

2. Trongsa Dzong:

Resting on the ridge of the mountain, Trongsa Dzong makes a perfect picturesque destination. Located in the Trongsa District, this Dzong is the largest fortress of Bhutan. Housing two hundred monks, the dzong has its own temple. A huge statue of Buddha is also placed inside the complex of the temple.

3. Paro Dzong:

Known as Rinpung Dzong, this Dzong operates the Kagyu School, which belongs to the ancestral age of Drukpa. Located in the Paro District on the banks of Paro Chhu River, one can easily reach the Dzong through a small bridge. It is one of the most eminent monasteries. It attracts tourists and travelers across the globe.

4. Punakha Dzong:

Located between Mo Chhu and Po Chhu rivers, this Dzong offers an important place in the culture of Bhutan. Located in the Punakha district, this Dzong is the second largest and oldest Dzong in Bhutan. This Dzong is situated at an elevation of 1200 meters. The Dzong has a capacity of six hundred monks and a six-story watchtower. 

5. Lhuntse Dzong:

Located in the lap of Mother Nature, this is one of the most beautiful Dzongs in Bumthang, Bhutan. With a major river flowing, the Dzong offers some of the best views of Bhutan. The Dzong has five temples. However, it now lies in the hands of the monks. The scenic beauty of the Dzong is unexplainable!
